Chairman: Mr Jan Van Heek
Mr van Heek is employed as a Senior Advisor to the CEO and the senior
management team of Genzyme Corporation. Jan van Heek joined Genzyme
in 1991 and has been responsible for building the Company’s worldwide
therapeutics, surgical and genetic testing businesses. He established
Genzyme's European offices in the early 1990's before moving to the
US to head the Company’s therapeutics division. Mr van
Heek has played a key role in building Genzyme's broad portfolio of
businesses and manufacturing infrastructure worldwide. Prior to Genzyme,
Mr van Heek held various management positions at Baxter Healthcare
Corporation in Europe and the U.S. At Baxter, his last position
was as vice president/general manager of the global Fenwal Division
of Baxter Healthcare Corporation based in Deerfield, Illinois. Mr
van Heek is a board member of Viacell Corporation, Zelos Corporation
and PanGenetics BV.
Mr van Heek received a M.B.A. from St. Gallen University, Switzerland
and an executive degree from Stanford Business School, California.

President, Chief Executive Officer and Director: Mr Philip Astley-Sparke
Philip Astley-Sparke established BioVex's headquarters and operations
in the US in 2004 and prior to becoming CEO served as the Company's
President & COO. Prior to joining the Company, initially as CFO,
in 2000, Mr. Astley-Sparke was in healthcare corporate finance at Chase
H&Q (Robert Fleming) where he advised on numerous high profile
fundraisings and mergers and acquisitions in the biotech sector.
He received his B.S. in Cellular & Molecular Pathology from Bristol
University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen.

Chief Technology Officer, Founder and Director: Dr Robert Coffin
Robert Coffin, Ph.D. is one of our founders and our Chief
Technology Officer, prior to which served as our Chief Scientific Officer
since 1999. He is an expert in the application of virus-based
technology for the development of therapeutic products, has authored
more than 60 scientific papers and is an inventor on all the
patents protecting Biovex's technology.
Dr. Coffin received his Ph.D. in 1991 from Imperial College,
London.

Dr Len Post
Dr. Post is currently CSO of LEAD Therapeutics, a small molecule drug
discovery company. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of
Research and Development for Onyx Pharmaceuticals from 2000 to 2006.
In this role, he was responsible for the co-development of Nexavar
through to FDA approval for renal cancer, and until 2004 also led Onyx’s
oncolytic virus clinical program. Prior to joining Onyx, Dr. Post was
VP Discovery Research at Parke Davis.
Dr. Post holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin
and a BS in Chemistry from the University of Michigan.

Mr Steve Prelack
Steven Prelack became a director in June 2006 and is chair of the
Company audit committee. Since 2001, Mr. Prelack has served as
senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of VelQuest
Corporation, a provider of automated compliance management solutions
for the pharmaceutical industry. Since 2003, Mr. Prelack has
served as a board member, audit committee chair and audit committee
financial expert for Pro-Pharmaceuticals, Inc., an American Stock Exchange
listed company and a developer of novel nanotechnology carbohydrate
therapeutics.
Mr. Prelack is a certified public accountant and a member of the National
Association of Corporate Directors, and received a dual B.B.A from
the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in Finance and Accounting.

Suzette Dutch
Suzette is co-founder and Managing Partner of Triathlon Medical Ventures
in Cincinnati and brings 17 years venture investing and 9 years operating
industry experience in pharmaceuticals, devices, and diagnostics. Suzette
was a Managing Director of Senmed Medical Ventures and served as a
member of the investment committee from its creation in 1987 until
2003. She led the strategic planning, market and industry research,
clinical/regulatory and business analysis due diligence efforts for
start-up through later stage investments. She represented Senmed on
the board of several companies, including I-Flow, Transplant Therapeutics
and Optosonics and currently represents Triathlon on the board of Renal
Solutions, Inc. Prior to joining Senmed Medical Ventures, Suzette served
as Manager, Product Strategies, Sencorp Inc.'s surgical stapling business
until its sale to Ethicon, and in the corporate planning group. Before
that, she worked at SmithKline's Pharmaceutical Division in market
research supporting clinical studies designs, and regulatory and reimbursement
planning and documentation and was responsible for integrating SmithKline's
acquisitions of Allergan, Beckman, and the Clinical Laboratories businesses
in her position in Corporate planning.
Suzette holds a BA degree in Economics, Cum Laude from Case Western
Reserve University and an MBA in Finance and Decision Science from
Wharton Graduate School, University of Pennsylvania.

Sander Slootweg
Sander is a General Partner at ABN Amro (Forbion). After joining
ABN AMRO Private Equity in 1999, Sander acted as co-founder of ABN
AMRO Capital Life Sciences (AAC LS) in 2000. His investments at AAC
LS included the acquisition financing of Green Cross Vaccine Corp (Korea)
by Rhein Biotech N.V, the Series A rounds of AM Pharma B.V. and Amsterdam
Molecular Therapeutics (AMT) B.V., and the Series B round of Xention
Discovery Ltd. In all other deals, some of which were co-led by ABN
AMRO Capital, Sander took an active role.
He currently serves on the boards of Alantos Pharmaceuticals Inc,
Argenta Discovery Ltd, Xention Discovery, Bioceros B.V. and AMT B.V.
Sander has also served on the boards of AM Pharma B.V., PharmAAware
B.V. (now merged with AM Pharma), Cambridge Drug Discovery Ltd (now
Biofocus Plc), Etiologics Ltd (now Argenta), Pieris Proteolab AG, Impella
CardioSystems AG and Cilian AG. He has also represented ABN AMRO Capital’s
interests in the boards of Argos Therapeutics Inc (formerly Merix Biosciences
Inc), Ardana Plc and GlycArt AG.
Sander has degrees in Business Administration (Nijenrode University,
1989) and Business Economics (Free University of Amsterdam, 1992).
He wrote his graduation thesis on different ways of applying complex
valuation models in M&A transactions.

Somu Subramaniam
Somu Subramaniam is the Managing Partner of New Science Ventures (NSV),
which he co-founded in 2004. NSV focuses on science-based venture investments
in biotechnology, medical device and semiconductor sectors, and manages
over $100 million and over 20 portfolio companies. Mr. Subramaniam
serves on several Board of Directors, including Therox, a company that
has developed a focal hyperoxemic technology designed to treat ischemic
myocardial tissue in heart attack patients; Receptor Biologix, a biotechnology
company focused on the development of biotherapeutics designed to modulate
the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) family of cell-surface receptors;
and Achronix a fabless semiconductor company building the world’s
fastest FPGAs. He also is an observer to the boards of Light
Sciences Oncology, Xoft and BioProcessors. Prior to starting
NSV, Somu was a Director of McKinsey & Co. and at various times
led their Strategy Practice, BioTechnology Practice and HealthCare
Practice. He also was a member of McKinsey's Investment Committee.
Somu received his undergraduate degree from B.Tech. from IIT and his
M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Sebastien Cleftie
J. Sebastien Cleiftie, Investment manager with Innoven Partenaires,
has 10 years of scientific research, business development, and venture
capital investment experience in the life sciences sector. He started
his career as a scientist in immunotherapy and gene therapy pre-clinical
research at Aventis Pharma (now sanofi-aventis) in California, and
subsequently provided strategic and business development consulting
services to several biotechnology firms in the US and Europe. Since
joining Innoven Partners, J. Sebastien has been involved in numerous
life science venture capital transactions including Paion (Frankfort
Stock Exchange: PA8), BioVex, OctoPlus (Euronext:OCTO.AS), and EyeGate
Pharma. He currently serves on the board of 5 venture-backed companies.
He has a BS in Biomedical Sciences and an MS in Immunology from University
of Paris V, and an MBA from Cornell University.

Philippe Guinot MD, PhD
Dr Guinot joined Crédit Lyonnais Private Equity
in July 2001 to create the firm's Biotechnology and Life Sciences investments
portfolio. Dr Guinot is a Medical Doctor and an anesthetist. He also
holds a PhD in Life Sciences and is the author of numerous international
scientific articles. From 1977 to 1994, he pursued his career in the
pharmaceutical industry in business and drug development, working for
several international laboratories in Switzerland, France, Germany
and the UK. During this time, he was in charge of the development of
new drugs, several of which are marketed today. He was also appointed
Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Davis,
from 1992 to 1996. Dr Guinot then managed three US and French Biotechnology
companies in France. He currently serves on the boards of eight companies
and on the finance advisory board of AFMTéléthon (French
Muscular Dystrophy Association).
