President, Chief Executive Officer and Director: Mr Philip Astley-Sparke

Philip Astley-Sparke established BioVex's headquarters and operations in the US in 2004 and prior to becoming CEO served as the Company's President & COO. Prior to joining the Company, initially as CFO, in 2000, Mr. Astley-Sparke was in healthcare corporate finance at Chase H&Q (Robert Fleming) where he advised on numerous high profile fundraisings and mergers and acquisitions in the biotech sector. He received his B.S. in Cellular & Molecular Pathology from Bristol University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen.

Chief Technology Officer, Founder and Director: Dr Robert Coffin

Robert Coffin, Ph.D. founded BioVex in 1999, and is our Chief Technology Officer. Prior to founding BioVex Dr. Coffin oversaw a research group at University College London developing virus-based technology for the development of therapeutic products, where the original technology under-pinning BioVex was developed. Dr Coffin has authored more than 60 scientific papers and is an inventor on all the patents protecting Biovex's technology. Since founding BioVex Dr Coffin has managed BioVex's research and development, taking multiple products from initial inception through to Phase I and Phase II clinical trials, and now additionally leads BioVex's clinical development programs where preparations for Phase III studies are now underway.

Chief Financial Officer , Treasurer and Secretary: Stephen Gorgol

Stephen Gorgol has served as our head of Finance and Administration since May 2005. Prior to joining us, Mr. Gorgol was at Vista Medical Technologies, Inc., a NASDAQ traded medical device manufacturer, from 1997 to 2004 where he served as CFO. He received his B.S. in Accounting from Plymouth State University, New Hampshire.

SVP Product Development: Dr Colin Love

Colin Love, Ph.D. , has served as our Senior Vice President, Product Development since 2000. Dr. Love was Director of Manufacturing Development at the Celltech Group, a global biopharmaceutical company, where he worked from 1992 to 2000. Dr. Love received a B.Sc. in biochemistry and a Ph.D. from Glasgow University.

VP Quality: Dr Thaddeus Pullano

Prior to joining Biovex in July 2007, Dr Pullano served as the Vice President of Quality Systems for Acambis from 2003 to 2007. In this role he was responsible for all aspects of Quality Systems, including oversight of vaccine manufacturing and clinical quality assurance. Prior to Acambis Dr. Pullano was responsible for quality assurance at Transkaryotic Therapies as the Company transitioned from R&D to manufacturing operations. He has also held a number of positions in quality assurance at Wyeth Vaccines.  Dr Pullano holds a Ph.D in Biochemistry from the University of Southern California and a BS in Biochemistry from the State University of New York at Binghamton.

VP Operations: Lance Weed

Lance Weed joined BioVex Inc. in April of 2006 as the Director of Operations with the responsibility of managing the build out of the Woburn facility. He was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 2007. Previously, Lance was the Director of Operations at Formatech Inc. from 2004 and was responsible for all operational activities related to the contract aseptic filling suite and the facility maintenance. Lance began his career at Biopure Inc. in 1987and advanced though positions in manufacturing, engineering and management to become the Director of Manufacturing Operations. He gained experience through multiple plant expansions and was responsible for start up and operation of two remote manufacturing facilities during his development. Lance holds a degree in Chemical Engineering.
